Individual and Couples Counselling
I work with individuals and couples from a client-centered, collaborative approach. I use a variety of counselling orientations to help you work towards achieving your goals. This often includes understanding how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours may be influencing your current situation. Gaining this understanding is an important step towards achieving your desired outcomes.
First Responders
Jeremy is familiar with the challenges that first-responders face. Over the past twenty years he has held several first-responder roles including:
Emergency Medical Responder with BC Emergency Health Services
Wildland firefighter with the BC Wildfire Service and Metro Vancouver Regional District
Search and Rescue Volunteer and Resource Member with North Shore Rescue
Ranger and Duty Officer with Metro Vancouver Regional District
Post-Secondary Students
Jeremy completed a counselling practicum in the Counselling Department at Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo, BC, where he worked with university students aged 17 - 35.
Counselling topics included academic and social pressures, financial concerns, new-onset mental health concerns, substance use, sleep challenges, ADHD, and existential anxiety. Jeremy employed trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches while working with a variety of populations.
While completing his own undergraduate degree, Jeremy also volunteered at the NEEDcrisis suicide prevention line (now the Vancouver Island Crisis Line).
